Oslo Pride – Sofienbergparken – from cruising park to Pride Park
From the 1950s and onwards, Oslo’s inner Eastern parks were arenas for guys looking to hook up with other guys.
While most were random encounters in bushes, some even found relationships able to handle the light of day. The cruising activities were however risky. Some were stigmatized, others got venereal diseases, and some were subjected to threats and blackmail. The anonymous park cruising died out as HIV was on the rise, and when someone lost their life in the park. Lars Alldén from the Norway Bears invites you on a tour, showing the park life of bygone times, on the exact site that this year hosts Pride Park 2024!
Tilfeldige møter i busk og kratt, men det oppstod også varige forhold som litt diskret tålte dagslys. Cruisingen var risikabel. Noen ble stigmatisert, andre fikk venerisk smitte, noen ble utsatt for trusler og utpressing. Det anonyme parklivet døde ut da faren for HIV økte og da noen mistet livet i parken. Lars Alldén forteller om parklivet som florerte i fjerne år, nettopp i området som huser Pride Park 2024.
