Akerselva River walk – Sunday July 19
Join Bamseklubben and our hiking host Henrik for a pleasant, summery Sunday walk along the Akerselva river☀️.
We’ll start at the top by Kjelsås station and make our way down via Nydalen, Bjølsen, and Myraløkka, before dropping by Hønse-Lovisa’s house at Beierbrua.
Whether we make it all the way down to Grønland is something we’ll decide on the day, and you are welcome to join us for as much of the walk as you’d like.
There will be several nice stops along the way, and great company is guaranteed.
We’ll kick things off by taking the Gjøvik line train from Oslo S at 12:04 PM up to Kjelsås (a regular Ruter Zone 1 ticket is valid). Meet up by the tiger statue outside Østbanehallen at Oslo S at 11:45 AM – so we can board together. If you’d prefer not to take the train from the city center, you can simply meet us at Kjelsås station when the train arrives at 12:17 PM.
No registration required. Henrik grew up in the area around Akerselva and attended Sagene, Bjølsen, and Sandaker schools – so he is bound to have a few local stories to share along the way.
